Real Estate Developers to Convene for End-of-Year Meeting, Set 2025 Agenda
The Real Estate Association of Kenya (RESA) is set to host its annual end-of-year meeting tomorrow at a city hotel. The gathering will bring together key players in the real estate sector to review the past year, recognize top-performing companies, and outline the strategic agenda for 2025.
The meeting, chaired by RESA Chairman Kinyua Wairatu, will feature an awards ceremony where outstanding companies will be honored with trophies in recognition of their excellence and contribution to the sector.
“This is one of a kind. We will have an opportunity to review 2024 and lay the groundwork for the coming year, where we will be unveiling some exciting developments,” Wairatu said.
Reflecting on the association’s achievements in 2024, Wairatu noted that significant strides had been made in restoring public trust in the real estate sector. He highlighted efforts to eliminate fraudulent actors who had long plagued the industry.
“Cases of fraud and conning have reduced significantly since many companies have joined RESA. While we still have some unscrupulous players, I can confidently say that the industry is regaining public trust. It may take time, but I am confident we will achieve our goals,” Wairatu stated.
Since its formation, RESA has introduced a certification system for its members, aimed at enhancing accountability and ensuring professionalism in the sector. The association has also spearheaded public awareness campaigns, encouraging Kenyans to only engage with registered real estate firms.
Looking ahead, Wairatu revealed that the association aims to register over 2,000 companies by next year as part of its mission to strengthen oversight and protect consumers from fraud.
As the industry grows, the role of RESA in promoting ethical business practices and fostering investor confidence is expected to remain pivotal. The upcoming meeting is seen as a vital step in aligning the sector’s goals with Kenya’s broader economic development agenda.
