Prepare Youth for Leadership, DP Kindiki Tells Leaders

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the country is on the right path the founders of nation had hoped for.
He said those who fought for the country’s liberation had a vision as to where the country should be heading towards.
“They fought for integration and solidarity,” he said. Kindiki called for both the current and the coming generations to support each other for the country to prosper.
He was speaking during the launch of youth digital hub held at Swahili  Pot in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
Kindiki who was accompanied by Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Cabinet Secretary Hassan Ali Joho among others disclosed that leadership and nation building are temporary and short  term activities.
He said those in the current generation have little time left and challenged to prepare the youths to assume the leadership roles they are currently holding.
“The current generation won’t be here forever and for all time,” he said.
The DP said the government has a duty to ensure there are facilities to make it possible to empower and mentor the coming generations.
Kindiki told the forum that he is sure the future of the country is secure with the young generation which has dreams and visions for the country.
On his part Joho said the year 2024 is gone and it will never return as the new year is with us.
In his welcome speech the Cabinet Secretary urged the youths to make use of this year warning that they may live to regret it if they do not do so.
He said the government is ready to work with everybody to transform the life of everybody.
“This is to ensure better standards of life for every Kenyan,” he added.
