Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Thursday arrested Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok in connection with an ongoing investigation into an alleged misappropriation of county funds.

According to the EACC, Barchok is at the center of a Ksh 350M investigation and is currently detained at the South Rift DCIO headquarters in Nakuru.

Apart from Governor Barchok, EACC is also targeting Bomet County  CECs, Chief Officers, and Senior county officers, over the embezzlement through fraudulent payments to companies allegedly owned by senior County officials.

Last year in November, Bomet lawmakers called on the EACC to investigate Barchok for alleged misappropriation of county funds.
