Over 85 Nairobi MCA aspirant endorses Richard Ngatia for Nairobi top seat
Richard Ngatia’s bid for Nairobi’s gubernatorial seat has received a major boast after more than 85 MCA aspirants in the City endorsed him.
Ngatia has been traversing Nairobi meeting various stakeholders in the city’s he seeks to consolidate for his bid.
The MCA aspirants who unanimously agreed to work with Ngatia said that all indications were pointing that Ngatia will be the AZIMIO LA UMOJA choice to battle it out for a chance to succeed governor Ann Kanamu cone 2022 general elections.
They pinned out that the body language of the country’s top leader’s and Raila Odinga were indicating towards Ngatia.
Karen MCA aspirant Ben Okoth said that they will rally their support behind Mr Ngatia’s candidature not because of coercion but because of his track record as a leader.
“We have no option but to support him. His track record in the 15 years he has been working in Nairobi speaks for itself,” He said
Ngatia who is a heavyweight in the corridors of power is expected to officially launch his bid in January,2022. An insider within Raila Odinga’s ODM party told revealed to The Times, that the decision by the party’s Secretar generaleral Edwin Sifuna to declare interest in the Naiobi senate seats complicates the Azimio la Umoja political matrix in the city and could be an indicator that the party is not keen on fielding a candidate.
” Both Tim and Sifuna come from Western Kenya and Bungoma to be precise. Azimio la Umoja spirit dictates that we must do some balancing act and one would have expected that perhaps the SG would have gone for another seat,” an ODM leader who sought anonymity over the matter said.
