Trans Nzoia Assembly Speaker asserts his bid in the County’s Senatorial Seat
The Speaker for Trans Nzoia County Joshua Werunga has publicly announced that he will contest for the senatorial seat in the county.
Speaking during the launch of Democratic Action Party at Chui House Kilimani in Nairobi County, Werunga was confident to succeed Michael Mbito.
“Democratic Active Party is the fastest-growing party in Kenya, in Trans Nzoia there is no any other party and I will contest for the senatorial seat in the coming general elections,” said Werunga.
He said he will represent the interests of Trans Nzoia residents in the Senate and transform the county through development of the stagnant projects.
DAP party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi who doubles up as Kanduyi constituency member of parliament said the party will hold fare and transparent nominations ahead of the general elections.
The party embarked on a serious grassroots mobilization and popularization campaign in the western part of Kenya barely two weeks after its launch.
This is a blow to Bungoma senator’s party Moses Wetangula, Ford Kenya, as more of its members defect to the newly born party.
