Governor Lenku maintains that Paai Bridge met all the quality standards, Blames Heavy Rains.
Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has dismissed claims that Paai bridge constructed by the county government collapsed because of the showdy work done by the contractor.
Lenku who has seen sent his team of engineers on ground said the bridge went down because of natural causes.
“I hear others are now saying that the contractor did showdy work which is not true. Only the necessary procedure was followed and the bridge was certified to be fit. But as you know, you can’t fight with the weather”, he said.
Lenku says construction work is in progress and the bridge will be back again.
“We have our team on ground and this bridge will be back. Let’s avoid the cheap propaganda being peddled around by our competitors. I am a caring governor and I can’t do something that will expose my people of Kajiado to danger”, he maintained.
Residents described the bridge as a game changer saying that it has made their movement easy.
“We are happy that our governor came to our rescue. We are farmers and this bridge was of help to us. We are happy that they have started repairing it and we will continue to use it”, said John Nashupae
Nashupae said the ongoing rains played a big role in bringing the bridge down.
