The Registrar of Political Parties (RPP) Chief Executive Officer Ann Nderitu on Monday issued a provisional registration certificate to the Vitendo na Sera Party (VSP) national officials at her offices in Nairobi.

This is after the party met registration requirement needed for them to be issued with the certificate.

Ms Nderitu however told the Party officials who were led by Party Leader Jared Oundo, Deputy Party Leader Joseph Michael Maina and Secretary General Wycliffe Nandwa, that they have a window of 200 days to ensure that they have enough members across the country and have physical offices in more than 25 counties, so that they will get the full registration certificate.

She also advised the officials not to register any member without her/his consent.

The ORPP also advised the party to ensure that it is technologically empowered so as to ensure registration of its members is seamless.

‘Let it be remembered that we are not here to register any member for any party. Our mandate is to register, regulate and administer the political parties Fund. Go out their and sell your ideologies to the public and we have many Kenyans who are willing to join any party. Do not register anyone without her/his consent,’ she said.

The Party’s Leader Oundo assured the ORPP that the party will abide by all the rules of the game and that it will be a party to watch during the subsequent elections away from this year’s polls.

‘Our party is guided by 6 ideologies. Social justice, Economic growth, farming, education and human rights. We are going to stay around for many years to come unlike many political parties that come and go. That is why it took us long to register but as you know, an elephant’s gestation period is two years and that is who we are.’ Oundo likened his party as such.

He also added that the party will not be going to field candidates for any post in this year’s general election but will do so in subsequent elections.

His remarks were echoed by the Party’s Secretary General Wycliffe Nandwa who will be the custodian of the Party’s Registration Certificate.
