Safina Party presidential candidate Mr. Jimi Wanjigi has sent a message of condolence to the family of the late former president Mwai Kibaki.

Mr. Wanjigi spoke during the launch of Starehe Constituency SAFINA Party branch along Haile Sailasie Avenue in downtown Nairobi said; “I have known Mwai Kibaki since I was in Primary School. We were frequent visitors in his home and he was a frequent visitor to our home and his death is indeed a sad moment to his family and Kenya at large.”

Wanjigi who is making a first stab to the Presidency, added that it was under him that Kenya enacted the 2010 Constitution and also helped in economic gains.

Mwai Kibaki, who took over after late President Daniel Moi’s 24-year rule to become the 3rd Head of State has died aged 90, State House announced on Friday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta issued a presidential proclamation announcing the passing on of the retired President who also served as Kenya’s fourth Vice President among other state duties. May his soul rest in peace.
