Nairobi County scouts council appeals for Government intervention
By Fred Maingi
The Nairobi County Scouts Council is up in arms after their operations were disrupted by a group of people who claim to have taken over as caretaker committee.
This came after a group took the bonafide Nairobi county scout council to court for no apparent reason.
Addressing the media at the Rowallan scouts camp headquarters at the ASK show Ground ,Camp managet Solomon Kimani appealed to the Government to intervene and restore normal services.
“As bonafide members, we condemn the way the group invaded our camp with no . prior notice. Our board members were not even aware about the new developments. This is totally wrong and unacceptable” Kimani noted.
“A team of strangers , he added came here and started harrasing our staffs. The manner in the way they came and conducted their eviction exercise was strange. We want the Government and stakeholders to come in, we are not secure”
George Ochieng who is the Assistant commissioner in charge of training termed the action taken by the strangers as abnormal, barbaric and unprofessional.
Ochieng however said despite the disturbance , operations at the camp were going on as usual but with a alot of tension and suspicion on incoming visitors.
Ochieng accused the ‘intruders’ for trespass in their Rowallan scout camp, interfering with their normal operation and above all, failing to serve them with a notice.
Ismail Abdi, a commissioner based in Nairobis Westlands condemned the action and called for sobriety in the matter.
