Veteran Golfer Wins Nyali Sanlam Tournament

Ian Marshall alias Captain posted 42 points to register a win in the Sanlam golf tournament played at Nyali golf and country club at the weekend.

The veteran golfer playing under 16 handicap in a post Covid 19 pandemic match scored 17 points on the first ninth hole and 25 points on the second ninth hole before being crowned the overall winner.

The annual golf tournament which was halted due to the pandemic attracted almost 200 golfers.

The one-day tournament whose awarding ceremony was graced by the company’s chief executive officer [CEO] George Kuria  saw Rimal  Shah win the men trophy with 40 points on count back.

Playing under 22 handicap he scored 16 points  on his first ninth hole and 24 points on the next ninth hole.

The men’s runners-up award went to Simon Karemu who was playing under 13 handicap after posting 39 points.

He managed to score 18 points on his first ninth hole and 21 points on the second ninth hole.

The lady’s award went to a business lady after posting 40 points on count back.

Playing under 33 handicap she scored 21 points on the first ninth hole and 19 points on the second ninth hole.

The runners-up award in the same category went to veteran player Florence Karimi after posting 40 points  playing under 18 handicap.

Counsel Karan Khargram won the High Handicappers award after posting 42 points.

Playing under 32 handicap he managed to score 25 points on the first ninth hole and 17 points on the second ninth hole.
