Kenya Assemblies of God Nyahururu District Bishop Simon Kieru has urged the men of cloth to desist from unrealistic endeavours.

His advice follows the death of a 39-year-old pastor from Mozambique on Wednesday after attempting to mimic Jesus Christ’s biblical feat of fasting for 40 days straight without food and water.

Francisco Barajah, the founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church and a French teacher in the town of Messica, had fasted for 25 days before he was rushed to hospital by his relatives and followers owing to his deteriorating health.

Bishop Kieru in his advisory advised:

“this is unbiblical because graces are different. without food and drinks and he is a human being can’t survive .in the ministry we learn from others but be yourself,”

Bishop Simon Kieru is the Bishop of Kenya Assemblies of God Nyahururu District.
