Bungoma youth set to benefit from free digital services

The Jitume Kazi Desktop Infrastructure has promised to provide youth in Bungoma county with free Digital services, skills and opportunities to enable them fully tap on technology.

Speaking at Matili and Kisiwa Technical Training Institutes, Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka challenged Department of TVET to consider upgrading Matili & Kisiwa Technical Training Institutes to National Polytechnic status for easier accessibility.

“I have engaged President Ruto and the Ministry of Education over the upgrading of these institutions,” Lusaka divulged.

He further called upon PS TVET Dr. Esther Mworia to fast track the process.

The governor also revealed that Department of Energy will install streetlights along Kimilili-Matili road to ensure safety of both students and residents.

Kabuchai lawmaker Majimbo Kalasinga in his speech beseeched his colleagues to support the bill of making  technical education national exams free.

The event that was hosted by Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and The Digital Economy Eliud Owalo was also graced by PS TVETA Dr Esther Mworia, MPs; Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai), Julius Rutto (Kesses), among other County and National Government officials.
