Nairobi Assembly Vets Sakaja’s Top Taxman

Nairobi County Assembly has today vetted the Nairobi City  County Nominee for the Nairobi City County Revenue Authority chairman position.

The nominee Andrew Chege is a former director data statistics at KRA has demonstrated his intension to boost revenue collection, functional strategy, system and collective workforce.

“There are things in the books and some on streets we shall work with reality. We shall be on good debt management, increase and spread collection of revenue. We shall also strengthen our revenue streams.” Chege told the committee.

According to budget Chair Wilfred Oluoch the report for the nominee will be tabled on Tuesday next week.

“We shall be retreating this week and by next week Tuesday the report will be tabled in the floor. it will be upon members to agree with the report on nominee or not but we wish him well,” Odalo noted.

His vetting cpoming at a time Nairobi City County’s internal revenues fell by 28 percent to Sh2.7 billion in the six months to December.

City Hall’s internal revenue declined by Sh1.078 billion to Sh2.733 billion, according to budget controller statistics, undercutting efforts to increase own-source revenue.
