Efforts to Revitalise Cashew Farming in Kilifi are in top gear
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Hon Mithika Linturi has attended a consultative baraza with the residents of Mkoroshoni, Kilifi North Constituency, Kilifi County, in regards to reviving the cashew nuts industry in the Coastal region.
The CS observed that the government is committed to uplifting the livelihood of farmers by increasing production and value addition that will lead to better income.
The establishment of County aggregation centers will be the game changer in the agricultural value chain where farmers will sell their products at the accurate market prices.”
He also encouraged farmers to apply for loans from the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) to boost farming activities as the country seeks to be a food secure nation by 2030.
CS Mithika Linturi was accompanied by the Kilifi County Commissioner Josphat K. Biwott, Kilifi North MP Owen Baya, AFC Managing Director Mr George Kubai among other leaders.
