Kenya Rugby Delegates Pass Accounts Report

Members and delegates who attended Friday evening Special General Meeting (SGM) unanimously passed the Accounts report and all other pending motions planned for discussion.

At the same time, Kenya Rugby Union(KRU) chairman Sasha Mutai reconciled with his bitter rival cum Hon Secretary Ray Olendo where they agreed to work together and push in one direction.

Over 35 clubs were represented in the SGM with few clubs sending their apology due to various reasons.

The current Auditor was re-appointed for one year 2024 while a committee of eminent person chaired by former chairman Richard Omwela was appointed.

The committee will include Cliff Mukulu, Peter Nduati plus three other members from the League namely the Nationwide League, Champions league and the Kenya Cup.

In addition, an Internal Audit and procurement committee comprising of 5 members was also appointed chaired by Victor Sudi. Clubs will nominate the other four members.

KRU chairman Sasha Mutai thanked members for showing up in large numbers and showing their willingness to work together to promote the game despite the current poor economic times.

Eric Ondiek from Kisumu who challenged the executive to clear the air on various hanging issues including sponsorship matters said he was impressed by members attitude in the meeting especially passing the Accounts report and other pending issues.
