Embu County Dismisses claims of alleged funds mis-appropriation
Embu County has dismissed claims that the county cannot account for 851 million.
This is following reports that appeared on a section of the media that the Auditor general cannot trace the said amount.
“The Press Report appearing in the Star on Monday, 1st March, 2021 titled “Embu cannot account for Kshs 851M- Auditor General” is a total misinterpretations of the Auditor- General’s Report” said Robert Ndwiga the Director, Governors’ Press & Communication Embu County Government.
Ndwiga maintains that the Kshs. 851,047,194 cited in the media report was properly spent and accounted for.
“All the expenditure items in respect of Kshs 851,047,194 were fully supported and expenditure vouchers provided for audit review.”
The county is now maintaining that the auditor general gave a clean bill of health over the county’s budget expenditure.
