Government should see some sense in educational matters

The government should revert to the old education system instead of rushing into the current new system.
Ugunja lawmaker Opiyo Wandayi argued the current education system lacks positive results.
He pointed out the current education system has been more complicated with a number of students and parents having difficulty to access funds.
“It defeats the purpose as to why it was introduced in the first place,” he added.
Opiyo urged the government to revert to the old system as it plans and prepares to introduce the new system in the education sector.
He was addressing a media briefing at a Mombasa hotel in Mombasa county.
The legislator said the current education system has made things worse than before.
Opiyo, who is Minority Party leader, insisted the government should go back to the old system.
He refuted claims they have resolved to take a back seat and vowed to voice their concerns on educational matters.
“We are going to push the government to make it see some sense in matters of education and we are optimistic that in time reason will prevail,” he said.
The Minority Party leader told journalists if the government fails to address the education concerns it will be to blame.
Opiyo lashed out at the government for categorizing people under household saying it is a complex issue.
