Ruto to name more cabinet secretaries by next week
President William Ruto has assured the country he will make more names known as nominees to serve as cabinet secretaries in due course.
He said he is conducting further consultations and assured the nation that by end of next week he will finally come up with names of nominees.
“I hereby nominate the first batch of 11 individuals to serve as cabinet secretaries,” he disclosed.
President Ruto said they were enhancing, broadening and deepening the national economic turnaround plan set out in the bottom up transformation agenda.
He spoke during the unveiling of his first batch of 11 individuals nominated to serve as cabinet secretaries at a ceremony held at State House in the Capital City Nairobi.
The Head of State acknowledged the importance of constituting a more inclusive government that unlocks the potential of citizens from all sectors to drive national transformation.
Ruto, who was flanked by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, pointed out in his five-page statement, the imperative of addressing the significant challenges of public debt.
He added that this is through establishing and implementing clear mechanisms to reduce public borrowing.
“To insulate the country from risks associated with debts accumulation and financial management,” he further added.
The Head of State acknowledged it cannot be denied that the country has been in a crisis caused by multiple and complex factors.
