Wandayi to Face Committee he Had Served

Cabinet nominee for the Energy and Petroleum docket Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi will be at the receiving end before the Parliament Committee on Appointments.

 

Wandayi who is Minority Party leader at the National Assembly will be vetted before the Committee under the stewardship of Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and vice chairperson Gladys Shollei under which he had previously served before being elevated by being nominated to serve as cabinet secretary.

 

Wandayi is among 22 nominees to form a broad-based government of unity after President William Ruto sent the entire cabinet packing.

 

The latest inclusion to the list of cabinet nominees before the vetting gets under way is Dorcas Agik Oduor who the Head of State has nominated for the position of Attorney General.

 

He also nominated another ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga to his cabinet list, Beatrice Askul Moe, for the Ministry of East African Community (EAC) Affairs and Regional Development to close the chapter of nominations  before vetting begins.

 

According to tentative vetting progamme the exercise is expected to end this Sunday at the floor of the house before the names are forwarded to the President for approval and appointment.

 

Others in the vetting committee apart from Wandayi is Anthony Kimani Ichung’wah, Owen Baya, Mbui Robert and Naisula Josephine Lesuuda.

 

Also in the committee are Pkosing David Losiakou, David Gikaria and   Mishi Mboko among others.
