Completion of housing project to end insecurity in Kisauni Constituency

Youths employment opportunities speeches dominated the ground breaking ceremony of Santana modern housing  project in Kisauni sub county.
A total of 816 housing units will be completed ahead of the 2027 general  elections with contractors under extra pressure to ensure they employ local area residents during the grace period of two years of the project.
Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, who prided over the ceremony in Magogoni Ward, assured the entire constituents they stand to benefit upon the completion of the project in two years.
He assured the youths drawn from the area he will pitch tent in the area soonest and that the county will open employment opportunities for the youths.
“Let us be open and honest that there are no barriers to block anybody from having access to me,” he pointed out.
The governor further assured the youths from Magogoni Ward they will get employment opportunities at the county level.
The Mombasa governor has asked the investors of the project to assist youths drawn from the area with education funds to acquire skills and knowledge and to also assist  women on small scale businesses.
Abdulswamad said that is the only way forward for economic  empowerment to both the youths and women.
The project under Megna Homes chief executive officer [CEO] Ahmed Badawy announced a total of sh 4.5 billion will be spent on the project.
He disclosed the project will have a gated community and they will put up  a permanent police post within the area.
A total of 2,000 employment opportunities will be created with a future plan to move to Changamwe and Jomvu sub counties with similar projects.
The area MP Rashid Bedzimba said the coming up of the project at his back yard is an indication that investors are ready to invest despite the negative  publicity of the area.
He said the project will lure more investors to the area.
“The more investors invest in the area for future projects they will open employment opportunities for the youths,” he pointed out.
Jomvu MP Badi Twalib applauded the collaboration of investors behind the housing project in Kisauni sub county.
He expressed confidence the project will be of benefit to the local residents.
“Youths will be employed during the project,” he said.
The Jomvu MP asked the governor Abdulswamad apart from youths being employed they should also be empowered with the county revolving fund to be part and parcel of the suppliers of the projects.
