Archbishop Arthur Kitonga Calls for Peace and
Dr. Archbishop Arthur Kitonga, the Founding Archbishop of The Redeemed Gospel Church International, has called on political leaders to embrace peace and refrain from making divisive statements that could incite animosity. In his remarks, Archbishop Kitonga emphasized that Kenya is currently in a crucial period for development, not political rivalry.
Addressing both political leaders and citizens, the Archbishop stated, “All politicians, we had our time for politics to choose those who are leading now. The time we have now is for development, not politics. Attacking one another left and right will not help this nation.” He urged leaders to focus on working together for the country’s progress rather than engaging in partisan conflicts.
He also reminded the nation of the importance of peace, quoting Jesus’ words: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you.” Kitonga encouraged leaders to resolve their differences in a peaceful manner, urging them to avoid the confusion and division currently witnessed across the political landscape.
“By addressing issues peacefully, you will save our country from the kind of confusion we are currently seeing left, right, and center,” Archbishop Kitonga added.
His message comes at a time when the country faces increasing political tensions, with various leaders exchanging heated rhetoric that threatens to destabilize national unity.
