Nick Mwendwa hints another run of FKF presidency in the next election

Barely months after his second term in office, Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwenda has hinted he will contest again for the federation top seat when his current term expires.

Mwendwa was recently re-elected to serve in another 4-year term in office last year after garnering 77 votes out of the 85 casted beating Lordvick Aduda who got only five votes.

The 42-year old counts on his continuous progress in football in the country since he took over saying the current FKF constitution allows him to contest for two more terms after his current term expires in 2024.

In his first term, Kenya qualified for the 2019 AFCON adding that it’s only in the second and third term he might be able to achieve more as he now dreams for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and the 2023 Women World cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Revealing his recent conversation with the Senegalese FA president in a local daily, Mwendwa said that he was advised that for one to build a nation that loves football, a two and half cycles of four years in a cycle are needed to put a federation in order.
