Digital transport lenders Uber, Bolt and Little cab suffer major setback as drivers start move to a local app

Nairobi alongside Kisumu and Nakuru have now joined Mombasa in the digital taxi migration to MyRide App.
Mombasa county was the first to migrate on the midnight of 10th May after parting ways with other Apps that include BoltءUber and Little cab among others. The migration will run for 40 days untill 20th June.
Addressing the media early today at a Nairobi Hotel,Digital partners Society(DPS) Secretary General Wycliffe Alutalala said their discussion with rebellious Apps have come to an end adding that” Let everyone keep what he owns”
Mombasa started their strike on May 10th .We are joining them in this journey that is meant to bring sanity in our Industry.We have negotiated for so long.We are not heading anywhere except to migrate to MyRide App who have fulfilled our requirement “,he said.
Alutalala who was flanked by over 13 lobby group officials led by Mtandao Drivers Association chairman Paul Mwai and Digitech Drivers Association Deputy Chairperson Richard Mwanzia said the industry has resolved to collectively make use of MyRide App countrywide in a bid to set the industry standards.
Alutalala who was accompanied by the forum Chief Executive Officer Rhayan Kanyandong said it was sad to realise that Service Level Agreements by Uber,Bolt,SWVL and maramoja Transport are signed in Kenya and governed by foreign laws which he termed as oppressive as most drivers and vehicle owners who are deactivated have no fair platform for fair hearing under the laws of Kenya.
