Covid-19 strikes as Bondo Police boss, Makueni man die after breathing problems

Sixty five year-old Richard Nthini Kingona has died after complaining of headache and difficulty in breathing in Kitivo Village, Kasikeu Makueni. County Health Officials have since moved to fumigate his home.
Makueni Health CEC Dr. Andrew Mutava Mulwa has since confirmed Mr. Kingona died of Covid-19.
In a related incident of suspected Covid-19, the Sub-County Police Commander of Bondo Anthony Wafula reportedly died on Monday night after developing fever and breathing problems.
Sources say Mr. Wafula who returned to Bondo one week ago after visiting Nairobi passed on at the Bondo Sub-county Hospital where he was rushed at around 11pm Monday night.
Sources told The Times the police boss began feeling unwell one week ago after visiting Nairobi until Monday night when his condition deteriorated at around mid-night and was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed at around 1am.
County Police Commander Francis Kooli said samples from his body have already been picked and taken to the KEMRI lab in Kisumu for testing to ascertain the cause of his death.
The body of Mr. Wafula’s has been moved to the Bondo Sub-county Hospital mortuary.
