KCAA says no aircraft has been reported missing from their radar

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has refuted claimed doing rounds on social media platforms that on Monday night, an aircraft FLY540 allegedly went missing from their radar.

In a statement to newsrooms, KCAA says no such incident occurred terming the reports on social media as fake news.

‘Our attention has been drawn to social media reports about an aircraft that purportedly went missing from our radar system around Syokimau in Machakos County last night. KCAA would like to clarify that no such incident occurred. We are in contact with all air operators in the country and none has reported such an incident.’ The statement from the Authority read.

KCAA advices members of the public not to panic but to ignore the fake news.

‘We wish to assure all our stakeholders that KCAA is fully in control of our airspace through our Air Traffic Controllers and all air navigation facilities are up to date and functioning well.’ The statement further read.
