Family appeals for medical help for 3 year old daughter

A family has made a public appeal for medical funds to help their 3 year child suffering from Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (Soft Tissue Cancer, Stage 3) fly to India for treatment.

According to the parents Malaki Sam and Naomy Malaki the daughter is due to travel tomorrow for a surgery however they are short of medical funds.

“Our 3-year-old daughter Imani  Iminza  Malaki  was in December 2020 diagnosed with Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (Soft Tissue Cancer,Stage 3. Sheis scheduled to undergo treatment in India from 6th Jan 2021 and Iam kindly appealing for your support and prayers to make Baby lmani restore her health completely.”

The family is thus appealing to well-wishers to help her fund the corrective surgery

An increase in the number of cancer cases in Kenya over the past decade resulted in legislative actions and policies to guide the delivery of cancer services.

The cancer menace has robbed the country of thousands of Kenyans among them prominent and influential figures like Bob Collymore, Ken Okoth and Anjlee Gadhvi.

According to data by the National Institutes of Health in America, Kenya records 28,000 new cases every year with an annual mortality of 22,000 cases.
