Journalists Hit The Streets to Fight for Their Safety

Journalists drawn from different media houses took to the streets in Mombasa county to protest recent attacks on their colleagues and media personalities by the police and threats to freedom of the press.

Journalists drawn from Mombasa county joined their colleagues to take to the streets to protest alleged attacks on media personalities by the police.

 

The county journalists drawn from different media houses heeded to calls from the Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ) to join the countrywide protest.

 

The procession is in response to recent attacks on media personalities by the police and threats to freedom of the press.

 

They had assembled at the famous Tusks along Moi Avenue and marched through Nkrumah Road to Uhuru Na Kazi Building.

 

The members of the Fourth Estate presented their memorandum to local Mombasa county commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa at the local regional office.
