DCI officers from Mt. Elgon arrested one murder suspect for an assault case reported at Kapsokwony Police Station later, resulting in murder after a man beat his cousin to death over a boundary row in Kaptama.

According to Mt. Elgon OCPD, Robert Makau, the 59-year-old suspect known as Moses Maasai Chepkech, was arrested at Kamukuywa trading center on March 11 after a tip-off by a member of the public to the police, who immediately sprung to action.

At the time of his apprehension and his arrest, Maasai was at the house of Geoffrey Kisaka, though the owner of the house wasn’t on site.

Maasai was then escorted and placed under custody at Kapsokwony Police Station, pending arraignment in court to face murder charges.

The other three suspects, including Moses’ wife and his two sons, are still at large, though DCI officers are under pursuit.
