Nairobi residents to have more access to health services

Kananu’s candidature will be viewed as an inspiration to women and young aspiring leaders across the country.

Atleast 24 more health centres will be commissioned before the next general elections.

The Nairobi Metropolitan Service ( NMS) and the County Government on Tuesday unveiled complete and new health centres in Uthiru and Kiamaiko, Nairobi County.

Nairobi Deputy Governor Ann Kananu together with NMS boss Mohamed Badi accompanied president Uhuru Kenyatta who officially launched the two facilities.

Ms Kananu hailed the speed at which the NMS is implementing projects and promised to ensure that the county completely supports the agency delvers it’s mandate.

” This is a tremendous job an we are fully going to support the NMS and President Uhuru’s agenda for Nairobi,” Kananu said.

The 24 health facilities will be spread across the major satellite towns in Nairobi.

President Uhuru said that the new health centres will boost access to health.

” We are happy that we are now going to reduce conjestion in some of our major hospitals,” Uhuru said.

The NMS and and the County Government have vowed to work jointly to ensure that most of the projects started by previous regimes are complete in time
