President Kenyatta condoles with the Mwahima family

President Uhuru Kenyatta has led the nation in mourning former Likoni Member of Parliament Masoud Mwahima who passed away last night.

In his condolence message to the family of the fallen former Coast politician, President Kenyatta eulogises Mwahima as an elder statesman, witty leader and astute grassroots mobiliser who leaves behind a huge legacy of development.

The head of state also eulogises Mwahima as an approachable, witty and, visionary elder and leader who offered wise counsel and outstanding service to the people of Mombasa especially his Likoni Constituency for decades.

“As a politician, Mzee Mwahima was a strong champion for community development projects, a trait that enabled him to rise through Mombasa politics having served as a Councilor, Mayor of Mombasa and MP for Likoni Constituency for two terms,” the President eulogised.

The President further wishes the family of the late Mwahima and the people of Likoni God’s comfort as they come to terms with the passing away of their patriarch and long-serving leader.

Other leaders including Deputy President William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga. Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and many more have also sent their messages of condolences to family and relatives of Mwahima.

Mwahima died at his Vyemani home in Mombasa aged 78 a day after being discharged from a Mombasa hospital where he had been receiving treatment.

He served as Likoni MP on a ODM ticket from 2007 to 2017.
