The two were received by ODM county chairman Mohamed Hamid Hamisi alias Dee and Mombasa County Assembly Speaker Aharub Khatri during a brief ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony the ODM county chairman said they have resolved to strengthen the party ahead of the 2022 general election.

Dee said they resolved during a closed door meeting to ensure they retained all elective posts in the forthcoming elections.

He said they have agreed that all elected party members will ensure they form a formidable force and campaign to win back their seats in the polls.

“We will address the challenges the party MCAs have been encountering in the past four years,” he pointed out.

On his part the Mombasa County Assembly Speaker said the litmus test the party is faced with is in how the primaries are conducted ahead of the polls.

Aharub insisted that the major test the party is facing is in ensuring the primaries are conducted above board to avert a fall out.

He echoed sentiments by ODM party leader’s wife Mrs Ida Odinga that the party primaries will be free and fair.

“Let me join in saying the party will ensure the nominations are free and fair,” he said.
