Ngatia’s supporters now join Agnes Kagure campaign team
Several youthful supporters of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Richard Ngatia who was forced to drop out of the Nairobi gubernatorial race have now joined Agnes Kagure who is vying for the seat as an independent candidate.
Addressing the media Thursday from a Nairobi Hotel, the leaders say that they were not consulted as voters when Ngatia and Kagure were forced to pave way for Jubilee candidate Polycarp Igathe saying that the decision was unilateral and did not reflect what they wanted.
‘The only people who we saw for the Jubilee ticket in the city were Anne Kagure and Richard Ngatia. They were coerced to drop their bids in favor of a person we did not anticipate.’ They said.
They further said that they had gone underground to strategize and after soul searching reached on the conclusion that Kagure was best suited to run the county unlike other candidates imposed on Nairobians.
‘We also want to state that Nairobi’s top seat is being held by a woman. It must therefore remain in the hands of a woman and that woman is Kagure’, they added.
