Nairobi County Offices Switched off Over Ballooning Power Bills
Employees at the Nairobi City County based at City Hall, City Hal Annex and Nairobi County Hospital were today forced to contend without electricity after Kenya Power Switched off the premises due to pending power bills.
It is not the first time that City Hall has been switched off, in November last year workers were forced to stay for a whole week without electricity following a Sh1.4 Billion electricity bill owed to Kenya Power.
According to insiders operations will be paralysed following numerous non payments of Electricity Bills.
This just adds to woes at city hall.
Just yesterday Nairobi County Workers Union Locked finance Departments accusing Senior Officers of not payment of Salaries on time as well remittances of NHIF, NSSF, and NASICO Loans.
“Nairobi Workers are suffering as Governor Ann Kananu, CEC Allan Igambi, Chief Officer Finance Mohamed Sahal are all silent” said a concerned employee.
