Unpacking Lucy-The Woman With a Vision for Mihang’o
By John Kariuki
It is in the public domain that in just 20 days Lucy Wangui will earn the title of Honorable and sit in Nairobi City County Assembly as the MCA for Mihang’o.
Who is Lucy?
Lucy Wangui, fondly shortened as “Kûi” is a graduate in Human Resource, a wife, a mother, a born again Christian, a person who believes in possibilities, a go getter and a team player. A person who believes that there’s unity in diversity, a servant leader, a selfless leader. A woman of the people.
Under the pillar of health, this is what Honorable Lucy Wangui intends to do:
- Lobby for allocation of one level three hospitals to help in offering critical and essential services that seem to be a miss in Mihang’o Ward.
- Strategically allocate three dispensary centers that will complement in offering health services to the ever expansive population of Mihang’o such as Hera Estate and Kibiku.
- Train at least one hundred (100) health workers who will facilitate an extension service program to the populous number of residents of Mihang’o
- Create a health clinic program with major and international health service providers that will be offering essential health services once in every month. This will address the availability and affordable services such as MRI and dialysis services.
