Cheers as Metropolitan win Kenya Koshien Baseball Championship at JKUAT

Nairobi based Metropolitan Baseball team put up a gallant show to clinch this year’s Kenya Koshien Baseball Championship staged at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture(JKUAT) grounds in Juja.
Metropolitan cruised to the finals after overcoming stubborn Grandson’s of Abraham by 25-10 runs Masai land team from Kajiado finished third after dismissing Kongoni by 15-4 runs.
Kongoni from Western finished fourth in the two days tournament that was graced by the Japanese Ambassador in Kenya Okaniwa Ken.
The Ambassador lauded Baseball Federation of Kenya (BFK) for organizing the competitive event adding that Kenya has a bright future in the sport.
The President of Japan Africa Baseball & Softball Foundation(J-ABS ) Shinya Tomonari and Business Director Miyuki Hedenstrom Hanaka and the entire BFK administration led by President Titus Mutwiri and Technical Director Dedan Kariuki attended the grueling event.
The deputy vice chancellor of JKUAT Prof. Bernard Ikua also graced the event.

The event was used to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kenya and the Republic of Japan.
