Kioni: Over 20 Political Parties Backing Matiangi’s 2027 Bid

Speaking in Nairobi on  Tuesday, 18th March, 2025,  Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, announced that over 20 political parties have pledged their unwavering support for Dr. Fred Matiang’i, the former Cabinet Secretary for Interior.

This backing positions Matiang’i as a key figure in Kenya’s political future, particularly in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.

“This coalition of over 20 parties, spanning from well-established political groups to emerging voices, signifies a new dawn in Kenya’s political landscape. We are confident that Dr. Fred Matiang’i, with his leadership experience and proven commitment to national reforms, can bring the change that Kenya needs,” the Jubilee SG declared.

According to SG Kioni, the parties supporting Matiang’i believe that his track record, particularly his tough stance on crime and his reform efforts within the government, uniquely positions him to tackle Kenya’s biggest challenges, including corruption, economic inequality, and security issues.

“Kenya is at a crossroads, and only strong, decisive leadership can guide us through,” Kioni continued, adding that the Uhuru-era CS  embodies that leadership.

As the country’s political climate heats up, all eyes are now on Dr. Matiang’i and his allies to see how they will maneuver within the complex dynamics of Kenyan politics to craft a formidable force to face off with President Ruto in the next elections.

The new, yet-to-be-announced coalition is gearing up for a challenging but pivotal election campaign and months ahead will test how these parties unite ahead of 2027.
