A section of Jubilee Party aspirants has called on Fred Matiangi to refocus his political strategy and prioritize building a strong, vibrant party structure ahead of the next general election.

The aspirants, drawn from across the country have expressed concern that Matiang’i’s current approach, largely aligned with broader opposition activities, risks weakening Jubilee’s identity and limiting his influence within the coalition.

They argue that without a solid party base, Matiang’i may struggle to command the political weight necessary to compete effectively at the national level.

Central to their demands is the need for Jubilee to reassert itself as a national party with grassroots presence across multiple regions. The aspirants maintain that Jubilee still retains networks and support structures built over the years, which, if properly mobilized, could position Matiang’i as a formidable presidential contender beyond his perceived regional base.

They further note the party’s 2027 flagbearer is currently being viewed narrowly as a regional candidate, a perception they say undermines his broader national appeal.

According to the aspirants, strengthening Jubilee’s grassroots operations would help reshape this narrative by demonstrating wider support across the country.

The group is also pushing for increased engagement with aspirants at the constituency and county levels. They propose organizing structured grassroots rallies and forums led by the party, where Matiang’i can directly interact with supporters and build a stronger personal and political connection nationwide.

Additionally, they have caution against overreliance on opposition coalition rallies where, they argue, Jubilee has limited influence over messaging and organization. They believe that without a firm party foundation, participation in such forums risks diminishing Matiang’i’s standing among other political principals.

Instead, they are calling for the consolidation of Jubilee’s internal strength, then leveraging that position to negotiate from a place of equality within any broader political alliance.

Analysts note that the calls reflect growing pressure within Jubilee ranks for clarity of direction and leadership.
