Kenya’s Football Titans Gor Mahia to Build 60,000 Capacity Stadium in Lukenya

Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia FC have identified a 48-acre piece of land in Lukenya, Machakos County, to build its 60, 000 seater stadium, this is according to the club’s deputy patron Eliud Owalo.
”I have this morning led the management of the club in assessing the suitability of a 48-acre piece of land in Lukenya, next to Daystar University, Machakos County. This is for purposes of the construction of the Gor Mahia stadium, club house and other relevant amenities,” Owalo said in a statement.
If it comes to fruition, Gor Mahia Stadium will have three training pitches tailored for the senior team, youth academy, and Gor Mahia Queens.
There will be on-site accommodation for players, a hotel for guests, a gym, and convertible indoor gymnasium, and full recovery facilities.
Additionally, the complex will host club offices, a media centre, merchandise and retail spaces.
”The proposed infrastructure will entail the main stadium with a seating capacity of 60,000 fans, 3 training pitches (for senior, youth, and queens teams), accommodation apartments for players, a 4-star hotel, an indoor gym and convertible gymnasium, club offices, a media centre, a swimming pool, recovery facilities including a sauna, an administration block, a merchandise store, retail outlets, washrooms, and ample parking, among other amenities,” Owalo added.
