State Succumbs to Pressure, Mourns Anti-Governmental Protesters
President William Ruto’s administration has succumbed to pressure to mourn with the anti-government protesters.
He sent his deepest condolence to the families of those who lost their lives during the protests.
“It’s unfortunate that lives were lost during the anti-government protests as one life lost is life of many,” he disclosed.
Ruto said he mourns with the bereaved families and friends of those who died during the protests.
He spoke when he issued a statement at State House Nairobi.
The Head of State said in his six-page statement covered live in the media from the capital city that the two-weeks of protests have been a difficult time for the country.
President Ruto said Kenyans have regrettably lost the lives of their dear ones during the protests.
He said his deepest sympathies and condolence are with those who lost their loved ones and equally with those many others who are injured and recuperating.
“The government wishes them a quick recovery and I assure you of my administration’s support for all those affected,” he pointed out.
The Head of State said the two weeks of mayhem has seen the loss of lives and many people were injured, property destroyed and the constitutional institutions attacked.
President Ruto lamented public debt is and continues to be a major concern in the country.
He announced he has appointed an independent task force to carry out a comprehensive forensic audit on public debt and a report will be out in three months.
