The crisis the Kenya Kwanza administration is facing is due to the immediate past regime under the famous handshake.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi pointed out the debt the current government has incurred is from the former administration.

He added that the debt it had incurred is as a result of accumulated expenses due to the last general election.

“In one of the government flagship projects the Kenya Kwanza administration must solicit for Sh 40 billion to offset the outstanding debts,” he disclosed.

Musalia pointed out that every first month of the year President William Ruto’s administration is being forced to look for funds to reduce debts.

He was speaking during an iftar [dinner] organized by East African Legislative Assembly [EALA] MP Hassan Omari Hassan alias Sarai at Burhani Sports Ground in Mvita constituency, Mombasa County. He had graced the occasion on behalf of President William Ruto.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary said at the mid of the year the government will also be forced to shop around for  another Sh 40 billion to pay for another  project.

Musalia said the standard gauge railway (SGR) is one of the projects that has put the Kenya Kwanza administration in a fix arguing that the government has to pay debts through its nose.

EALA MP Hassan Omari Hassan said he wants to see Raila’s circle of disputing presidential results every five years come to an end.

He said Raila is not above the law and cautioned him the electorate have spoken in last year’s polls after President William Ruto was legally declared the winner.

“Ruto won the polls in an accountable and transparent manner and not as claimed by Azimio’s whistleblower,” he pointed out.

The EALA MP said Kenya Kwanza administration’s main agenda is to bring change to the country after last year’s general election.
