Wanjiru Confident of Clinching Nairobi Senate Seat After IEBC Nod
By John Kariuki
Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is now ready to occupy the Nairobi Senate Seat after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission IEBC cleared her.
The delighted Wanjiru says she is ready to make sure the funds of the Nairobi City County are accounted for to the last penny.
Bishop Honorable Margaret is vying on a United Democratic Alliance UDA Party ticket.
She will face it head on with Azimio’s Edwin Sifuna who is eyeing the same position under the ODM Party ticket.
Speaking shortly after receiving her Certificate at Kasarani, she said, “I have been cleared by IEBC to run as the next Senator of Nairobi County. Thank you all for the support; it is time for a new beginning. Let’s work together to restore the lost glory of Nairobi. I will work closely with my Governor Johnson Sakaja to bring service delivery to the great City.”
The highly respected Bishop was accompanied by Hon John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), Dr. Boaz Chelugut (Ruaraka), Billian Okoth (Mathare) and Smith (Rufftone).
The Honorable John Kiarie said, “Im here to stand in solidarity with a lady who is best suited for the Senatorial office.
She has been an MP, a minister and is the best seasoned leader to steer Nairobi in that capacity since she understands the work of an MCA, MP, Senator, Woman Rep and Governor.
As the UDA party we are fully behind her and we shall deliver Nairobi.”
