President Ruto Kicks Off Development Tour in Nairobi Days After MoU With Raila

President William Ruto on Monday kicked off a development tour in Nairobi County, starting with the commissioning of the Kamukunji Technical and Vocational College in Eastleigh just two days after signing a working agreement with Raila Odinga.
During his address, Ruto emphasized the importance of technical education for economic growth, announcing a Ksh 50 million investment for an engineering complex at the college.
“This college is changing the lives of many young people,” he stated. “Listening to the principal and your Member of Parliament, we need to extend this institution. We require more facilities, including engineering, automotive, electrical, and building technology. I am committing the first 50 million shillings to begin that process, and I want it to start by June,” Ruto announced.
Ruto lauded the efforts of the institution’s leadership and affirmed that his administration is keen on boosting vocational training in the capital.
“Congratulations to Kamukunji Technical College. You have my support and the goodwill of the government. We will expand this facility to accommodate an additional 1,000 students,” he stated.
Further, the President revealed plans for a business incubator center at the college, developed in collaboration with the African Development Bank, to provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
He also praised Nairobi County’s initiatives in social infrastructure, like the Desert Grounds in California, Kamukunji.
The tour is part of President Ruto’s broader initiative to foster cooperation between national and county governments, promoting inclusive development and national unity.
Ruto’s activities included addressing residents and traders, accompanied by key political figures, showcasing a collaborative governance approach.
