Ndindi Nyoro In Stitches After Question On President Ruto’s A Million Chapatis for Nairobi Daily
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was left in stitches on Tuesday after being asked by Citizen TV journalist Stephen Letoo whether he would allocate Ksh 72 Billion towards President William Ruto’s pledge for a million chapatis daily to schools in Nairobi were he still the Budget and Appropriations Committee Chair.
Speaking at KICC, the Kiharu MP wondered whether Letoo’s question was for Kiharu or a national question since he (Nyoro) also has a feeding program where schools in his constituency prepare chapatis at least once a month for pupils.
”I don’t know where you got that math from and I don’t know whether you are asking about Kiharu because we do that in our day schools. We offer that in our day schools once a month. Is it a Kiharu question or a national question?” he asked.
Speaking at St. Teresa Girls Secondary School in Mathare last week Tuesday, President Ruto, who was accompanied by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja announced plans purchase a high-capacity machine capable of producing one million chapatis daily.
“Governor Sakaja has requested that chapatis be included in the Dishi na County program. He wants a machine capable of making one million chapatis per day, and I have agreed to his request,” said Ruto.
