3000 Kericho residents to benefit from new water project

In a bid to provide clean and safe water for communities in Kericho, James Finlay Kenya, Ministry of Energy and County Government of Kericho have commissioned a new borehole in the area.

The new Simchorwa borehole will benefit approximately 3,000 people from the county; including several schools and dispensaries.

The borehole offers 16 cubic litres daily supply of water for the communities of Lemotit, Kipkelion West Constituency.

According to James Finlay Kenya, the borehole project is part of the bigger sustainability agenda.

One of the key targets that they have set to achieve by 2022 in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is to reduce agrochemical usage by 50% and reduce year on year our environmental impact throughout their operations.

James Finlay Kenya has also built 5 Day care centres, 37 ECD Centres (800 pupils),12 Primary Schools, 2 Secondary schools (Marinyn & Chemasingi) and has sponsored other schools in Kericho including Moi Tea Girls Secondary, Kericho Tea Boys Secondary and Kericho Primary School.
