Bunge la Wananchi President, John mark Ababu has said that the recently held elections that saw five officials get elected into office are null and void.

Ababu says valid elections which were supposed to be held on 27th of August were postponed due to Covid-19 Protocols.

The Lobby says the elections which were held at Uhuru Park and elsewhere in different hotels as some people had reported are not Bunge la Wananchi elections. They have urged journalists who reported the said elections to always check and confirm because they only hold their elections at Jevanjee Gardens where all the sittings take place.

They have also said they won’t be held accountable for anything that will be conducted by the five individuals as they are not authorized to use the logo, write, speak or transact anything on behalf of Bunge la Wananchi.

John Mark  also asks COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli to keep ofF the Politics of Bunge la Mwananchi.

“I want to tell, Atwoli that we respect him so much, but he should keep of Bunge la Mwananchi. We know all the political parties like ODM, Jubilee, and am also told of UDA have their representatives here but they are not National Officials of Bunge la Mwananchi,” said John Mark.

“Am even confused on who I should hand over the office to. I will only give the sword of power to the one who will be elected here at the Jevanjee Gardens where we normally hold our elections,” he added.

The Chairman of the Care taker committee urged people to remain calm as they are in the process of finalizing the electoral calendar and they’ll soon conduct the elections as their norm and tradition.

“Bunge la Mwananchi care taker committee is in the process of finalizing its electoral Calendar and will soon conduct its elections at Jivanjee Gardens as per its norms and traditions. As per now Ababu is still the president,” said the Chairman.
