Abdulswamad Confident to Succeed Joho

Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has expressed his confidence to succeed Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho after the August general elections.
He said he is confident of winning during the ODM primaries slotted for April against his political rival Suleiman Shahbal and later trounce his competitors during the polls.”I wish to state here categorically that I will be presiding over similar ceremonies in a different hat after this year’s polls,” he added
Abdulswamad assured the constituents he will do better things for them when elected to succeed Joho.
He was speaking during a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of four classrooms courtesy of the Kenya Ports Authority [KPA] through Corporate Social Responsibility [CSR] at Tom Mboya Boys Primary School in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
The local legislator said he has what it takes and he can showcase his development record during his tenure as local MP adding that he was leaving as a proud man.
Abdulswamad reminded the electorate he is proud of the school feeding program he initiated for the less fortunate families.
He said the program was successful even before the constituency development fund [CDF] was brought on board.
“I was able to succeed through the effort and support of the electorate and stakeholders,” he added.
Speaking at the same ceremony, Mombasa businessman cum politician who doubles up as the Machele Foundation patron Mohamed Soud cautioned the electorate to tread carefully with political opportunists ahead of the August elections.
He warned them they will end up regretting six months after the forthcoming polls for electing a wrong leader and for the next five years.
“During this time of premature campaigns political trick-stars have invaded the country’s political scene with sweet talk to woo voters to rally behind them,” he pointed out.
Machele urged the electorate to be more vigilant than before ahead of this year’s polls.
