A goal scored in the 76th minute was enough for Bandari football club to collect three points during a mid-week league fixture played at Kenya Ports Authority [KPA] Mbaraki sports club in Mombasa county.

The visiting team’s Odhiambo Portipher handled the ball while trying to clear an aerial ball inside the box forcing the centre referee to award a penalty.

Port player Umar Kasumba made no mistake when he made the visiting team custodian Wanzala Brain dive the wrong side of the goalpost to score a lone goal for his team.

The visiting team mounted pressure seeking to equalize but never succeeded.

The remaining minutes to the final whistle of the match watched by a fair crowd went more physical and to some extent more entertaining for the spectators to enjoy.

During breather time the score was 0-0 with the teams missing a number of opportunities to get an opening goal.

The visiting team with an energetic youth squad came into the match after they were beaten 1-0 before the final whistle.

They had taken the match causally playing confidently compared to the home team which shook the visiting team’s net.

The visiting team’s Eric Ambunya was the first player to get a yellow card after playing rough.

Both teams hurriedly made several substitutions in the second half when the scoreline was nill.
