  • High Court has suspended interviews for Medical Officers and County Constables until the matter is heard and determined.
  • Our effort to get comments from the County Public Service Board Chairman Thomas Kasoa and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nyangara Nyamwaya were futile.

Nairobi County Public Service Board has cancelled interviews for candidates shortlisted for positions of medical officers over alleged malpractices in the selection process.

On Friday last week, the Board Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Mr Nyangara Nyamwaya issued a circular postponing the interviews indefinitely, citing a court order.

The circular dated 24th November, 2023 reads: “Following a court order dated 23rd November 2023, kindly note that the interviews

for medical officers scheduled for Monday 27th November 2023 to Wednesday 29th November 2023 have been postponed until further notice. We shall revert (to you) for any further updates on the same in due course.

A High Court order issued by Justice L. N. Mugambi on Friday 24th November, 2023 suspended interviews for candidates shortlisted to positions of Medical Officers and County Constables which had been scheduled by the Board to take place on Monday 27th November, 2023 and 18th December, 2023 at Joe Kadenge Stadium (formerly City Stadium) respectively.

A court order seen by The Times indicated Mr Justice Mugambi suspended interviews of Medical Officers and County Constables until the matter is heard and determined.

The Board has also shortlisted 1, 686 applicants for positions in the Green Nairobi (Environment, Water and Agriculture) Sector under governor Johnson Sakaja’s ‘Nairobi Green Army’ initiative.

A circular by the Board dated 23rd November, 2023 indicates the candidates have been invited for interviews on 19th December, 2023 at Joe Kadenge Stadium.

Some applicants to various positions who sought anonymity have raised concerns, accusing the Board of having conducted the selection process in a skewed manner.

Ironically, in the list of candidates shortlisted for positions in the Green Nairobi Sector, Uthiru High School is named as candidate No. 1590, identified by ID No.36879839.

Among the complaints reports we could not independently verify indicated there were also cases of alleged sexual harassment to some ladies who submitted their applications for employment opportunities.

However, our effort to get comments from the County Public Service Board Chairman Thomas Kasoa and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nyangara Nyamwaya were futile.
