Co-operative bank offers more scholarships to gifted and needy students

The co-operative bank of Kenya has announced scholarship to needy and gifted students across the Country.

The bank scholarship program was launched in 2007 and has been providing entire financial support to students selected for a period of four years.

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) the bank has been able to finance the education of more than 8412 bright and needy students.

Students are selected at the grassroots level by Co-operative Societies across the country through a well-established national delegates system.

Co-operative bank chief executive officer Gideon Muriuki in a past interview told the media they have chosen education scholarships as its flagship Corporate Social Investment.

Dr. Gideon Muriuki added that the bank in addition awards scholarships to each of the 47 counties.

The five slots are to be awarded to five bright and needy students who did their KCPE examination in 2022 from the County.

They were handed over to the Governor by Jane Gikara, the Nanyuki Co-operative Bank branch Manager.

The Governor appreciated the generosity of the bank and assured them that the 5 students will be selected per the bank’s guidelines.

 Others who were present during the handing over of the scholarships include Reuben Kamuri (Deputy Governor), Koinange Wahome (County Secretary) Stephen Kisorio, and Ag CECM Education among others.
