Former Kenya international female boxer Conjestina  Achieng has dispelled rumors she is dead.

She assured her fans she is stable and in good health.

“At the moment I am responding well to treatment and have no problems,” she pointed out.

Conjestina told off her critics and urged them to stop treating death as a joke and demanded respect.

She was reacting to social media speculation that she has passed on when former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko donated boxing gear while still undergoing rehabilitation at Mombasa women empowerment network hospital in Miritini area of Jomvu constituency, Mombasa county.

The former Kenya international female boxer told journalists it’s wrong for someone to wake up one day and decide to spread rumours without getting the facts right.

Conjestina took issue with those spreading false information that she is dead without seeking the facts.

She urged them to weigh their words before opening their mouths to speak arguing that death is a serious matter.

“I have not retired yet from boxing and it is just a matter of time before going back to the ring and sponsors should come out to support my quest,” she pointed out.

Mombasa women empowerment network rehabilitation chairperson Amina Abdalla said on her part that the former boxer is doing well and she has completed her first step treatment.

She clarified that after the first step treatment she is stable and entering her second step treatment with hope of fully bouncing back to her normal life.

“On the second step she is free to socialise with those she loves and to do what she loves most including sports,” she pointed out.

Sonko, who donated assorted foodstuff to the centre, told journalists he is happy to see improvement in her and vowed to continue doing follow ups on her progress.

He applauded her sentiments that she is willing to make a comeback in active boxing when she is fully recovered.
